PHTHALATE-FREE:

AeroSoul Air-Fresheners are India’s first PHTHALATE-FREE, IFRA Certified fragrances. Phthalates (pronounced THAL-ates) are a group of chemicals used to dissolve and carry fragrances, in addition to being used in a variety of other products. Phthalates have been at the center of many international controversies regarding their effect on health.

In 2004, the European Union and 14 other countries banned the use of two types of Phthalates: - DEP & DPB. From a public health perspective, the public has a right to insist on safer alternatives.

CFC – CHLOROFLUROCARBONS:

Aerosoul Air-fresheners are CFC-FREE.

CFCs or Chlorofluorocarbons are an environmental hazard. In the stratosphere the CFC molecules break down by the action of solar ultraviolet radiation and release their constituent chlorine atoms. These then react with the ozone molecules, resulting in their removal.

CFCs have a lifetime in the atmosphere of about 20 to 100 years, and consequently one free chlorine atom from a CFC molecule can do a lot of damage, destroying ozone molecules for a long time.

Although emissions of CFCs around the developed world have largely ceased due to international control agreements, the damage to the stratospheric ozone layer will continue well into the 21st century.

IFRA standards define safe use levels of individual fragrance ingredients. These are subject to regular amendments, based on new data and scientific developments.
